Sam has a focus on quality advice and structures to protect assets, and the interests of families and small businesses.

Sam has been with Hume Taylor & Co since 2007, having been admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and High Court the previous year.

Having worked previously at firms in metro and regional South Australia, Sam started as an Associate with Hume Taylor and progressed to becoming a Partner in 2014.

Sam has a keen interest in the affairs of primary production clients, given his rural upbringing in the South East and Fleurieu districts, with family in both regions. He prides himself on holistic advice to protect family assets across generations and assist with all aspects of family and small business requirements. Many of Sam’s clients have been with the firm for 2 or 3 generations, testament to the firm’s quality legal work, and the advisory expertise of Sam, his colleagues and predecessors.

Sam oversees the firm’s team of conveyancers in Adelaide and Millicent, and assists with complex matters and advice arising from land and business transactions of all sizes.

Based primarily in Adelaide, Sam regularly visits our Millicent office, retaining strong links to the South East community where some of his immediate family still farm.

Sam’s reputation for quality and well considered advice has seen him referred work from retired Judges, presiding Judges and Government agencies. A significant amount of his practice is referred by accountants, financial advisors and members of the independent SA Bar. Sam has also been recognised by Doyle’s Guide as a Recommended South Australian Wills & Estates Litigation Lawyer.

Sam is a proud father of two children and enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, running, art and literature.

Sam is a member of the Land Titling Advisory Group, a jointly established body of Land Services SA and the Office of the Registrar-General, and is a board member of Move Foundation, an ACNC accredited charity with operations in Australia and Africa.
